First off: this is Arlene Dickinson. You might know her as one of Canada’s leading entrepreneurs. Or maybe you‘ve seen her as one of the stars of CBC’s Dragons‘ Den. We are currently looking to add a full time Social Media and Content Specialist to our Calgary team. This is an intermediate role, responsible for developing and executing innovative social media marketing campaigns for a variety of clients under the direction of the Social Media & Content Director.  The successful candidate will have proven creative, strategic and communications skills with a high attention to detail and ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously.

Core Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Creation of social media strategy and calendar, for a variety of clients, based on research and marketing objectives
  • Develop and generate meaningful, shareable content that incites action and engagement
  • Weekly and monthly editorial calendars
  • Research and social auditing for various industries and segments
  • Implementation, scheduling and posting of all content for all clients
  • Daily monitoring and engaging within social channels, with continuous optimization and recommendations
  • Ongoing analysis of social data and metrics; issuing weekly, monthly and yearly reports and executing appropriate strategies and recommendations for improvement
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends, insights, topics and best practices
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of brand playbooks and guides as required on a per-client basis.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create integrated marketing campaigns
  • Set up, optimize and manage clients’ social profiles and Google Places pages
  • Perform research for new business and campaign opportunities
  • Paid social media campaign execution (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram paid / boosted content)

Desired skills and experience:

  • 3-5 years in a related capacity (digital, social media, public relations).
  • Knowledge of online marketing and understanding of major marketing channels and marketing fundamentals all considered assets
  • Demonstrated experience in developing comprehensive social media strategies with proven marketing-driven results (please submit any valid case studies).
  • Superior social media analytics knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent grammar skills and high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience with social media content creation (including blog writing, promotional campaign creation, and infographics) across various channels and media types
  • In-depth understanding of growth and sustaining tactics for social followership
  • Photography and editing software experience an asset, including expertise with smartphone-based tools
  • Demonstrated competency on all social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, G+ and YouTube
  • Proficiency in WordPress and Adobe Design Suite considered assets

Our Advertising Agency is currently looking to add a full-time Bilingual (French & English) Media Planner / Buyer to our Media team. This is an intermediate role, responsible for executing, managing, and reporting on advertising campaigns for a variety of clients under the direction of a Media Lead. The successful candidate will be fluent in both French and English, have advertising agency experience and/or advertising campaign management experience, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously.

We are looking for a passionate Information Architect / User Experience Specialist, focused on digital product development, to join our team based in Calgary.

As part of our technology group, this person will be focused on championing great user experiences for our clients and digital products.


  • Perform analysis (heuristic and similar) to generate documentation that directs information architecture, the user experience, and wireframes.
  • Create information architecture documentation for digital products across web, smartphones, and tablets in both browser and mobile app mediums.
  • Design cutting edge user experience documentation for digital products across web, smartphones, and tablets in both browser and mobile app mediums.
  • Quickly and clearly concept ideas through sketching or other rapid prototyping methods.
  • Produce user interaction diagrams, use case diagrams, screen flows, wireframes, and creative mock-ups.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders including project management, client management, strategic planning, design, and development.
  • Understands audience groupings and personas.
  • Assist in getting feedback from target audiences through usability testing, surveys, or focus groups.


  • A strong portfolio demonstrating your mobile and web application work.
  • Passionate about the end user experience and best practices in the digital space.
  • High degree of interest in usability and understanding user needs.
  • Experience working in an iterative and highly collaborative design shop.
  • Fluency in wire-framing mockup tools such as Keynote, Omnigraffle or Balsamiq.

Communications Specialist 

Venture is currently looking to add a communications specialist to our team. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for developing digital content and executing social media and public relations campaigns for entrepreneurial companies.

Desired skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Communications, English, Political Science, Public Relations or other related disciplines from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • 1-2 years of experience related to the communications field, including marketing, social media, public relations, or political communications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in developing and executing social media campaigns
  • Demonstrated experience in managing social media accounts
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing public relations strategies and products, including crafting traditional press releases and digital content.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:
