First off: this is Arlene Dickinson. You might know her as one of Canada’s leading entrepreneurs. Or maybe you‘ve seen her as one of the stars of CBC’s Dragons‘ Den. Or maybe you caught one of her many speaking engagements as the voice of the entrepreneurial movement in Canada.

We are currently looking for an Event Marketing Manager to join our team in our Calgary office.

You will work closely with the Client Marketing team on our largest account to plan, execute, and manage all experiential, sponsorship, and event based strategies for our client.

Core Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Work with the Client Marketing team on overall program development and manage execution of all event marketing & sponsorship programs, contests and sales promotions.
  • Coordinate day-to-day tasks for existing sponsorships & promotions.
  • Assist individual Dealers in sourcing, planning and negotiating new sponsorship and event marketing opportunities.
  • Attend various events across the prairie provinces to provide event activation support as required.
  • Assist in the overall co-ordination of the account with other duties as required.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, or related field.
  • 1-3 years experience directly relating to sponsorship and event planning and executio
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including extremely strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, and complete a number of different tasks simultaneously.
  • Work in a team environment and collaborate efficiently with others.

We are currently looking to add a Client Marketing Director to our Toronto team, to manage a roster of top tier clients. This role is a senior client management position, responsible for managing strategy, campaign management, leading a team of senior/junior account managers, and driving new business for some of our largest clients.

Core Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Lead Venture key customer accounts with a focus on building customer loyalty, maintaining customer relationships and generating additional service opportunities.
  • Drive excellence across the agency in our client deliverables, from strategy through to creative product and execution.
  • Actively follow the Venture process for delivering marketing programs.  Deliver Client Contact Reports, Budget Control Reports; develop accurate estimates in a timely and appropriate manner. Manage the relationship in a professional, ethical and disciplined manner.
  • Work with other teams to integrate Venture’s offerings into a holistic approach based on the customers’ needs.
  • Support business development efforts through contributions to RFP responses as well as new business meetings with prospective clients; always thinking about how we can better serve clients and grow their business.
  • Responsible for client satisfaction metrics, client acquisition goals, and profit goals.

Desired skills and experience:

  • 7-10 years of related agency experience with proven ability as a self-starter and client relationship leader.
  • Demonstrate bigger picture understanding of client's marketing strategy and ability to communicate how current insights/tactics associate with longer-term strategy objectives.
  • Ability to take complex ideas and explain to clients.
  • 5+ years of online marketing, direct marketing and/or related strategy work including campaign development and performance analyses.
  • Proven experience in managing teams of people, and in working cross-functionally across an organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including extremely strong written and verbal communication skills.
