First off: this is Arlene Dickinson. You might know her as one of Canada’s leading entrepreneurs. Or maybe you‘ve seen her as one of the stars of CBC’s Dragons‘ Den. Overview:

We are currently looking to add a full time Content Writer to our Calgary team. This role is responsible for developing predominantly digitally-consumed and social-media-based written content under the direction of a Media Lead.  The successful candidate will have proven experience writing for a variety of media channels, across various industry topics.

 

Core Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Copywriting and proofreading in a wide variety of styles, tones and formats.
  • Researching, writing and editing pieces for marketing communications campaigns, predominantly in the form of web content, blog posts, articles, white papers, and social posts.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with multiple simultaneous assignments.
  • Inherent understanding of writing for a target audience(s) and with specific marketing campaign objectives in mind.
  • Collaborate in the creation of client content calendars; establishing workflow of creation, editing and publishing of content.
  • Proactively proposing new, innovative, sharable content ideas.
  •  Establish strong cross-departmental relationships.

 

Desired skills and experience:

  • 3-5 years in a related capacity (copywriting, journalism, public relations).
  • Superior grammar skills and high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience with social media content creation (including blog writing, promotional campaign creation, and infographics) across various channels and media types.
  • Established written portfolio.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Firm understanding of brand strategy and development.

We are currently looking to add a full time Social Media Specialist to our Calgary team. This role is responsible for developing and executing innovative social media marketing campaigns for a variety of clients under the direction of a Media Lead.  The successful candidate will have proven creative, strategic and communications skills with a high attention to detail and ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously. This person will have an inherent understanding of social media with respect to marketing as well as engagement nurturing and growth.

  • Development of meaningful, shareable content for a variety of clients, across various industries.
  • Social strategy and content calendar creation and implementation.
  • Social campaign ideation.
  • Daily monitoring and engaging within social channels, with continuous optimization and recommendations.
  • Analyzation of social data and metrics; issuing periodic reports and implementing appropriate strategies and recommendations for improvement.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends, insights, topics and best practices.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of brand playbooks and guides as required on a per-client basis.
  • Collaborate with other departments to create integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Set up, optimize and manage clients’ social profiles.
  • Perform research for new business and campaign opportunities.

  • 1-3 years in a related capacity (digital, social media, public relations).
  • Experience in developing comprehensive social media strategies with proven results.

  • Experience growing and sustaining follower bases organically.

Overview:

We are currently looking to add a full time Media Planner/Buyer to our Calgary team. This is an intermediate role, responsible for executing, managing, and reporting on multi-platform campaigns for a variety of clients under the direction of a Media Lead. Primary responsibility will be managing SEM, online display, mobile, and video campaigns. The successful candidate will have campaign management experience, high attention to detail and ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously.

 

Core Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, buying, and optimizing display, mobile, video, and SEM campaigns
  • Traditional media planning, buying, and management on as-needed basis
  • Campaign analytics and reporting
  • Contract / invoice checking, budget reconciliations, and spend / ROI reporting

 

Desired skills and experience:

  • 3-5 years agency experience in a related capacity
  • SEM campaign management skills are mandatory
  • Demonstrated proficiency managing display, mobile, video, and paid social campaigns
  • Experience using Marin Search and Display (or a similar platform) preferred
  • Bilingual in French and English would also be considered an asset.
  • Advanced-level excel skills
  • Ability to self-manage and work as part of team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Venture Communications is looking for a seasoned Co-Creative Director to share in a lead role at our Calgary Office. In partnership with our current Creative Director, you will help lead Venture into the future. This is what you’d get to do:

  • Take a lead co-role in the quality and caliber of the creative products Venture delivers
  • Build the creative reputation and profile of Venture in the marketing and advertising community
  • Oversee the members of the creative team in our Calgary & Toronto office

Overview

We are currently looking to add an account & project manager to our Calgary team. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for working with clients to identify their needs, and working with a team to deliver high quality marketing products on time and on budget.

Desired skills and experience

  • A post-secondary degree from an accredited University in Business, Communications or a related discipline
  • Demonstrate understanding of marketing strategy, tactics, and objectives
  • Ability to take complex ideas and explain to clients
  • Demonstrated management experience in marketing and/or the communications field
  • Proven experience in managing teams of people, and in working cross-functionally across an organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communication skills

Duties and responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the servicing of Venture customer accounts with a focus on building customer loyalty, maintaining customer relationships and generating additional service opportunities
  • Deliver Client Contact reports, Budget control reports, and develop accurate estimates in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Have face to face meetings with the clients assigned and manage the relationship in a professional, ethical and disciplined manner

We are currently looking to add a web developer to our Calgary team. This role is a junior developer position, primarily responsible for maintaining / building websites and email campaigns for entrepreneurial companies.

Desired skills and experience

  • Experience in HTML, CSS, javaScript and jQuery a must

  • Prior agency or production house experience a plus
  • Experience in mainstream frameworks/systems like Wordpress/Drupal/Shopify a major plus
