Venture is looking for a Marketing and Data Scientist in our Calgary office. We want someone with integrity, attention to detail, and, above all else, an entrepreneurial approach to problem solving. As a member of Venture’s full-service team, you will help the clients of one of Canada’s leading independent marketing agencies ground their marketing and communications in research, data, analytics and up-to-the-minute knowledge of markets and consumers.

In tandem you will contribute by researching and writing clear, well-written and compelling insights and recommendations, in the development of brand strategies and marketing communications plans.

Responsibilities include:

As a member of Venture`s strategy community, you will work with colleagues and clients to:

  • Participate in the development of goals and the strategies to meet them and apply critical thinking to ensure our campaigns are delivering the greatest results for our clients.
  • Establish campaign KPIs and determine campaign effectiveness and ROI.
  • Develop recommendations on the basis of campaign post-mortem reports.
  • Prepare and verify industry and client data reports in support of ongoing activities for clients or within the agency.
  • Provide ongoing reporting and insights for a roster of Venture clients.
  • Conduct market research in the development of brand strategies and marketing and communications plans for large and small entrepreneurial companies and organizations.
  • Working with client managers to provide ongoing data-driven insights for our clients
  • Working with strategists to assess campaign performance, providing insight and ongoing recommendations as needed.
  • Remaining current on digital marketing innovations, to ensure our clients stay ahead of their competition.

 

Required skills and experience:

This is mid-level position. Accordingly, we are looking for applicants with a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience, strong skills, enthusiasm, and a desire to learn, grow, and add value to our team.

  • Exceptional analytical, strategic, and research abilities
  • Familiarity with Python, PowerBI, Google Analytics, Data Studio, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word, as well as Logix.
  • A high aptitude to learn all aspects of research related to marketing and communications strategy, including new digital marketing tools
  • Excellent communications and listening skills
  • Superior writing skills, with a high attention to detail
  • Comfort presenting your ideas to senior colleagues, in formal and informal settings
  • A collaborative and engaging demeanor, with a willingness to share ideas, assist others, and accept feedback from agency teammates and clients

We are currently looking to add a full time Media Planner/Buyer to our team. This is an intermediate-to-senior role, responsible for planning, executing, managing, and reporting on multi-platform campaigns for a variety of clients. Primary responsibility will be managing SEM, online display, mobile, social, and video campaigns. Secondary responsibilities will including planning, buying and managing traditional media when required. The successful candidate will have campaign management experience, a high attention to detail and the ability to manage a variety of projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

As a member of Venture`s strategy community, you will work with colleagues and clients to:

  • Plan, buy and optimize display, mobile, video, social and SEM campaigns.
  • Undertake traditional media planning, buying, and management on an as-needed basis
  • Perform campaign monitoring and optimization
  • Perform campaign analytics and reporting in concert with a team of analysts,
  • Contract/invoice checking, budget reconciliations, and spend/ROI reporting

 

Desired skills and experience

We are looking for applicants with strong media skills and enthusiasm and a desire to add value to our team. You have:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years agency media experience. SEM campaign management skills are mandatory.
  • A high level of skill in all aspects of digital marketing and communications, including new digital marketing tools
  • Demonstrated proficiency managing display, mobile, video, and paid social campaigns
  • Demonstrated experience with Google Adwords and Analytics
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic, and research abilities

Job description

We are currently looking to add a Client Marketing Manager to our Calgary team! The Client Marketing Manager will be responsible for managing strategy, campaign planning, management and measurement, as well as brand development efforts for a portfolio of Venture’s clients. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a marketing and/or communications field as well as a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or other related fields. Agency experience an asset.

 

Core Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Drive excellence across the agency in our client deliverables, from strategy through to creative product and execution.
  • The successful development of both online and offline projects, working with a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team of resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget with complete accuracy.
  • Actively follow the Venture process for delivering marketing programs.
  • Deliver Client Contact Reports, Budget Control Reports; develop accurate estimates in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Manage the relationship in a professional, ethical and disciplined manner.
  • Work with other teams to integrate Venture’s offerings into a holistic approach based on the customers' needs.
  • Support business development efforts through contributions to RFP responses as well as new business meetings with prospective clients; always thinking about how we can better serve clients and grow their business.
  • Responsible for client satisfaction metrics, client acquisition goals, and profit goals.

 

Core Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • 3-5 years of related agency experience with proven ability as a self-starter and client relationship leader.
  • Demonstrate bigger picture understanding of client's marketing strategy and ability to communicate how current insights/tactics associate with longer-term strategy objectives
  • Ability to take complex ideas and explain to clients.
  • 3+ years of online marketing, direct marketing and/or related strategy work including campaign development and performance analyses.
  • Experience in managing projects budgets and schedules for: Print, Broadcast (Television, Radio), Direct Mail, Websites, Digital Marketing – Online Display & Rich Media, Email, Social Media and CRM projects.

Venture Communications is looking for a seasoned Public and Media Relations Specialist to plan and execute communications strategies for our client base. Working alongside Venture’s full-service marketing communications team, you will help our clients by developing creative and interesting PR strategies that support their business.

  • Established portfolio of success, showing your ability to reach and influence various media at local, national and international level
  • Demonstrated success in planning and executing public relations campaigns through new and traditional media, across various channels and media types
  • Demonstrated competency on social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • A firm understanding of brand strategy and development
  • Previous experience developing relationships with different kinds of media personalities and influencers, and an innate understanding of the kinds of media and public engagements that would be useful for a diverse range of clients and projects
