Job description

We are currently looking to add a Client Marketing Manager to our Calgary team! The Client Marketing Manager will be responsible for managing strategy, campaign planning, management and measurement, as well as brand development efforts for a portfolio of Venture’s clients. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a marketing and/or communications field as well as a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or other related fields. Agency experience an asset.


Core Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Drive excellence across the agency in our client deliverables, from strategy through to creative product and execution.
  • The successful development of both online and offline projects, working with a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team of resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget with complete accuracy.
  • Actively follow the Venture process for delivering marketing programs.
  • Deliver Client Contact Reports, Budget Control Reports; develop accurate estimates in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Manage the relationship in a professional, ethical and disciplined manner.
  • Work with other teams to integrate Venture’s offerings into a holistic approach based on the customers' needs.
  • Support business development efforts through contributions to RFP responses as well as new business meetings with prospective clients; always thinking about how we can better serve clients and grow their business.
  • Responsible for client satisfaction metrics, client acquisition goals, and profit goals.


Core Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • 3-5 years of related agency experience with proven ability as a self-starter and client relationship leader.
  • Demonstrate bigger picture understanding of client's marketing strategy and ability to communicate how current insights/tactics associate with longer-term strategy objectives
  • Ability to take complex ideas and explain to clients.
  • 3+ years of online marketing, direct marketing and/or related strategy work including campaign development and performance analyses.
  • Experience in managing projects budgets and schedules for: Print, Broadcast (Television, Radio), Direct Mail, Websites, Digital Marketing – Online Display & Rich Media, Email, Social Media and CRM projects.
  • Proven experience in and successful management of projects with cross-functional teams (Client Marketing, Creative, Production, Strategy, Media, Digital and Events).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including extremely strong written and verbal communication skills.

Venture Communications is looking for a seasoned Public and Media Relations Specialist to plan and execute communications strategies for our client base. This position will be based out of the Toronto office. The ideal candidate has integrity, experience, and an entrepreneurial approach to problem solving. Working alongside Venture’s full-service marketing communications team, you will help our clients by developing creative and interesting PR strategies that support their business.

Here's how you will succeed:

  • You are professional. You will work with clients to develop and execute winning public and media relations strategies and tactics.
  • You are meticulous. You will help research and plan PR and media campaigns, events and activations down to the last detail, and leave no stone unturned in the search for the right connection, execution, or soundbite.
  • You are clear. You will contribute to the public positioning of clients, through PR campaigns, social media, and media relations that amplify marketing. This will include proposing and writing clear, well-written and compelling content for those campaigns and efforts, including plans, media releases, key messages, speeches and others as required.

  • Demonstrated success in planning and executing public relations campaigns through new and traditional media, across various channels and media types
  • Demonstrated competency on social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • A firm understanding of brand strategy and development
  • Previous experience developing relationships with different kinds of media personalities and influencers, and an innate understanding of the kinds of media and public engagements that would be useful for a diverse range of clients and projects

We are currently looking to add a full time Content & Social Media Coordinator to our Calgary team. This role is responsible for developing content marketing pieces, such as SEO-driven, digitally-consumed and social-media-based content under the direction of the Director of Content and Social Media. The successful candidate will have proven experience writing for a variety of media channels, across various industry topics as well as with scheduling, posting, boosting and engagement on all social media platforms.

Responsibilities include:

  • Copywriting and proofreading in a wide variety of styles, tones and formats for online, email, blogs and social media.
  • Keeping up-to-date with SEO and content marketing practices and incorporating those into collaborative work.
  • Researching, writing and editing new pieces for marketing communications campaigns, predominantly in the form of web content, blog posts, articles, white papers, and social posts.
  • Uploading and updating content on websites, social media scheduling software and other channels as needed.
  • Auditing and editing historical pieces.
  • Creation of client content calendars; establishing workflow of creation, editing and publishing of content for social media.
  • Proactively proposing new, innovative, sharable content ideas to engage our audiences in various industries.
  • Schedule posts for social media in scheduling software or natively; boosting and promoting posts understanding our social objectives and reporting on key metrics to ensure success and evolution of our social strategies.
  • Creating small form content for stories, galleries and other social executions using editing apps (Adobe, Snapseed, Canva)
  • Ensuring timely replies to customer service inquiries and managing the tracking of customer relations
  • Engaging influencers to work with brands to create posts and content for our feeds; managing the relationships and reporting of exposure
  • Quality control and fact checking of all social posts

Required skills and experience:

  • 3-5 years in a related capacity (social media management, content writing, copywriting, journalism, public relations).
  • Superior grammar skills and high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience with social media content creation (including blog writing, promotional campaign creation, and infographics) across various channels and media types.
  • Established written portfolio.
  • Extremely strong time management skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with multiple simultaneous assignments.
  • Inherent understanding of writing for a target audience(s) and with specific marketing campaign objectives in mind.
